Robert Parker
"This Lancyre wine is a blend of 75% Syrah, 15% Grenache and 10% Mourvèdre, aged in barrels. Pic Saint-Loup Grande Cuvée 2017 spent 18 months in oak barrels, giving it hints of cedar and vanilla overlaid with fruity notes of black plum and blackberry. Full-bodied and concentrated, it's also supple and mature, with hints of chocolate and licorice on the long finish, but these elements are balanced by crushed stone notes that bring a bit of freshness." (Wine Advocate 2020 - Joe Czerwinski) A great success!

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2024) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the domain :
After Bernard Durand, who accompanied the Pic Saint-Loup's conversion from sheep-dominated polyculture to its recognition as a quality wine-growing zone, Régis Valentin, his nephew, has taken over the technical reins. Without fanfare, this is an estate to seek out for its powerful yet tasty Cuvée Vieilles Vignes, its Clos des Combes and its Grande Cuvée. The Cuvée Madame is even more ambitious, and the rosé is consistently delicious.
Guide Hachette des vins
Domaine noté (guide 2024) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the domain :
Régis Valentin, oenologist and cellar master, took over the estate created in 1960 by the Durand-Valentin families in 2001. He produces wines from 80 ha of vines (in organic conversion since 2019) occupying a beautiful terroir of hard limestone and red clay. A sure bet in the Languedoc.
