"A superb wine made from a blend of Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache and Carignan, the Saint Chinian Grand Vin 2014 is loaded with notes of ripe plums, broken stones and violets. Rich, medium-bodied, nicely balanced and with notable tannins, it will benefit from a year or two in bottle." (Wine Advocate 2017 - Robert Parker)

Guide Hachette des vins

Wine rated (2018 guide) 1*Star (Very successful wine)

About the wine:

From the very first nose, this Saint-Chinian expresses itself unreservedly through red and black fruits, violets, black olives and vanilla. The palate is full-bodied and concentrated, with powerful young tannins and a lovely freshness that lasts from start to finish, right up to the final peppery note.

About the domain :

After advanced studies in biogenetics, ampelography and oenology, Cyril Bourgne began his career in Bordeaux (Château de Fieuzal) before embarking, with his wife Nadia, on a more personal viticultural adventure in the Languedoc. The vineyard is meticulously tended, and the vinifications now carried out in the new cellar, immersed in the Saint-Chinian landscape, enable the extraction of long, fine grapes. The precision of barrel ageing, introduced for the Grand Vin cuvée with its predominantly Syrah and Mourvèdre grapes, aims to renew the contemporary expression of Saint-Chinian.

About the wine:

Minty aromas with fresh, peppery fruit. Magnificent tannins, great finesse, a wine that resembles a Rhône. A little tobacco and cedar, the oak shines through, but this integrates with time. A wine not to be missed.

Gilbert & Gaillard

Gilbert & Gaillard

Wine rated 90/ 100

About the wine:

Concentrated garnet-red color. Ripe, stone-fruit nose (plum, periwinkle) with spicy undertones and undergrowth. On the palate, lovely juice, sap and controlled power. Unctuous, greedy, yet aromatic. Modern without denying itself.
