Bettane & Desseauve
"Sublime Terrasses du Larzac, gourmet and racy".
This wine has all the hallmarks of a great wine: deep structure, full-bodied and delicious yet fine, it is distinguished and powerful. Fruit and freshness remain the guiding principles of this cuvée. Aromatic subtlety is supported by refined, savory tannins. The precision remains and the flavor lingers on, to our great delight! (Wine delivered without capsule)

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (guide 2025 ) 95/100
Domaine rated (guide 2025) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the wine:
La Grande cuvée en Terrasses-du-Larzac doesn't fall into any of the classic traps of over-ripeness and over-extraction, it's on a tangent with the models of the genre, so close to equaling them.
About the domain :
Jean-Baptiste Granier makes one of the most exciting cinsaults, virtuosically cultivating a small dozen hectares since his debut in 2007, propelled by a certain Olivier Jullien. Delicious, floral finish, red fruits, licorice: the similarity of tactile sensations with Burgundy's great Pinot Noirs is obvious. It has all the hallmarks of a great wine, except for the price. The grand cuvée, made from Terrasses-du-Larzac, has not fallen into any of the classic traps of over-ripeness and over-extraction, and is right up there with the best of its kind, so close to equaling them. In just a few years, this white has established itself as one of the region's finest gastronomic wines.
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Wine rated (guide 2025) 94/100
Domaine rated (guide 2025) 2*Stars (These great estates, often endowed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the wine:
Terrasses du Larzac is a dense, dark, deep wine, but it already has a very fine grain, a fine acid base and takes us between licorice and aromatic herbs. The promise of long ageing is there.
About the domain :
The Vignes Oubliées project began in 2007, when Olivier Jullien and Jean-Baptiste Granier, then an intern at Mas Jullien, decided to vinify parcels of old vines at altitude in the Saint-Privat area for the first time. The vineyards were planted on abandoned schist and sandstone, which produced very fine grapes, but in small quantities, and did not meet the expectations of the local cooperatives. The trial was conclusive, the wine was baptized, and the adventure could continue: Jean-Baptiste will look after these old vines. They are now matured in a natural cave, a restored former oil mill. Expressions have been gently refined, to deliver wines with pure, deep mouthfeel.

A TDL pearl with a singular profile, Les Vignes Oubliées is a sensual cuvée, opulent and lush, but also sanguine, dynamic and sustained by a beautiful freshness that perfectly balances the whole. They shine with an impressive aromatic concentration of deep, bright red and black berries, insistent exotic spices and garrigue aromas, beautifully structured around delicate, lush tannins that reinforce the sensation of suavity that emanates from a full, perfectly relaxed palate. On a balsamic background resulting from fine-tuned ageing, the pulpy, conquering texture glides across the palate to a finish of interminable length that leaves behind a gentle caress enveloping the taste buds. Although young, we enjoyed it today after aeration, on a fine table in the company of herb-crusted Aubrac beef ribs, braised on vine stocks and served with chanterelles. Score = 4.5.
