Rated estate (2017 guide) Selected (An estate or winery that impressed us with one or more of its wines, but where we are unable to give an overall opinion on the style of the entire range)
About the estate:
Demanding and meticulous, Loïc Mahé takes great care to preserve the balance of the flora and fauna in his vineyard, which has been certified organic since 2008. He created this vineyard from scratch in 2000, starting with a small plot of land in Savennières, which had no vines at the time! With the takeover of the Château La Franchaie vineyard in 2011, he now cultivates nearly 11 hectares of vines, including a good number of vines in Savennières.

Rated estate Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)
About the estate:
Based in Anjou for ten years, Loïc Mahé has gradually expanded his vineyard, which remains small in size (5 hectares). This young biodynamic winemaker aims to express the strong, full-bodied character of the vineyards around Sainte-Gemmes. After a period when the wines were certainly sincere but somewhat rough around the edges, the vintages are now gaining in precision, even if the aging process still has room for improvement.
