Domaine Pithon-Paillé
Domaine Pithon-Paillé was created in early 2008 by Isabelle and Jo Pithon in association with Wendy and Joseph Paillé. Jo Pithon has been a winemaker for over 30 years, and Isabelle for 20. Joseph, Isabelle's son, has been working in the vineyards since the age of 13.

Domaine Pithon-Paillé cultivates 13 hectares of organic vines, certified Qualité France. The vineyards are located in Saint-Lambert du Lattay (Bonnes Blanches), Saint-Aubin de Luigné (La Fresnaye), Beaulieu sur Layon (Coteau des Treilles), Rochefort sur Loire (Quarts de Chaume) and Savennières. The wines produced are aged in barrels and wooden vats for 10 to 18 months, depending on the cuvée.

To complete its range, Domaine Pithon-Paillé also buys grapes from winegrower-partners who also work organically. This requires a relationship of trust with the winegrowers and a good knowledge of the Loire Valley. As a result, Domaine Pithon-Paillé is able to offer wines such as Anjous, Crémants de Loire, Chinons, Bourgueils, Saumur-Champigny...

"Fresh, taut, elegant, an amiable and simple Chenin that gives great pleasure." (Le Guide Bettane & Desseauve des Vins de France 2017) Planted on schist and limestone soils, Chenin blanc expresses itself here on fruit, freshness and elegance. A straightforward yet gourmet wine to enjoy with fresh starters or on its own as an aperitif.

(2012 vintage notes)

A blend of different plots on schist and limestone, Mozaïk rouge is a true pleasure wine. The delicate, gourmet fruitiness of the Cabernet Franc develops both in the glass and on the palate. A convivial wine par excellence!

"Aromatic evolution towards honey and quince for this full-bodied, vigorous white, whose solar intensity gradually fades and in which a mineral and vigorous race imposes itself. It seems to have reached maturity ". (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2017 - RVF)

"Bonnes Blanches 2013 is far superior, endowed with the energetic framework of schist, coupled with the sharp profile of the vintage: an excellent, invigorating white." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2016 - RVF). Tension and freshness for this 2013 vintage.

"From the warm gravel and pebble soils in the village of Saint-Aubin de Luigné, La Fresnaye 2011 unveils an inky color and reveals a noble, intense, delicate bouquet of spicy fruit, earthy nuances, gamey accents, coffee and graphite. Aged in barrels for two years, this is a fresh, pure, powerful red, firmly structured yet silky, elegant and dynamic, with a great intensity of ripe black fruit closely linked to tobacco scents. La Fresnaye is an excellent, elegant wine with very good ageing potential." (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)

This cuvée owes its name to the grape variety it's made from: grolleau (or groslot), a minority but historic grape variety in Anjou that produces wines with little tannin, lots of fruit and generosity. A wine with a deep red color and a nose of ripe red fruit. To share with friends!
