Domaine Pellé
Menetou-Salon
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2025) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
The Pellé family have deep roots in the Menetou-Salon appellation, and their work in the vineyard and winery is impressive. Since 2006, Paul-Henri has been re-enchanting this family-run address, which is improving in quality. The emphasis on plot-based cuvées and the mastery of ageing in wood, with an increasing use of large containers (foudres and vats), contribute to the excellence of the domaine, which has added a further requirement with organic farming certification since 2021.
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated wine (guide 2025) 90/100
Domaine rated (guide 2025) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with good production levels, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
Vignes de Ratier's fullness, shoulders and early honeyed evolution seduce us, its generous curves reflecting this solar vintage.
About the domain :
Paul-Henry Pellé, Anne's son, is in charge of the vineyards and vinifications: this demanding winemaker, who never ceases to refine soil work and ageing methods, is fully committed to the quest for optimal ripeness and varied terroir expression. Meticulous vinification produces crisp, refreshing whites (Morogues), as well as deeper wines that reflect the uniqueness of each terroir: Le Carroir (old vines on flint), Vignes de Ratier (solar terroir of Kimmeridgian marl), Les Blanchais (northeast-facing Kimmeridgian marl). Well constituted, the reds may show some deviation.
Jancis Robinson
Wine rated (guide 2024 ) 17/20
About the wine:
No oak marks - well done! Transparent but different - perhaps wider - better than the usual Morogues.
Vinous A. Galloni
Rated wine (guide 2024 ) 91/100
About the wine:
Fermented and aged in oak barrels, the 2022 Vignes de Ratier is a concentrated, ripe wine with a fleshy mid-palate before tightening like a laced corset. The 2022 is seductive and chalky, with a drawn-out line.
