Jancis Robinson
"A few years of ageing will allow it to reveal its full potential.
"Carroir 2022 is a rare, north-east-facing flint parcel aged for 12 months in large wooden vats. Indeed, its nose is sober and flint-like. The fruit is ripe and open, giving a style that caresses the mid-palate without any edge. The flint provides a tight, structured framework on the finish, but remains relatively soft on the acidity front." (Vinous A. Galloni 2024)

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (guide 2025) 92/100
Domaine rated (guide 2025) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
The Pellé family have deep roots in the Menetou-Salon appellation, and their work in the vineyard and winery is impressive. Since 2006, Paul-Henri has been re-enchanting this family-run address, which is improving in quality. The emphasis on plot-based cuvées and the mastery of ageing in wood, with an increasing use of large containers (foudres and vats), contribute to the excellence of the domaine, which has added a further requirement with organic farming certification since 2021.

Wine rated (guide 2025) 92/100
Domaine rated (guide 2025) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with good production levels, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
Le Carroir asserts itself with salivating righteousness
About the domain :
Paul-Henry Pellé, Anne's son, is in charge of the vineyards and vinifications: this demanding winemaker, who never ceases to refine soil work and ageing methods, is fully committed to the quest for optimal ripeness and varied terroir expression. Meticulous vinification produces crisp, refreshing whites (Morogues), as well as deeper wines that reflect the uniqueness of each terroir: Le Carroir (old vines on flint), Vignes de Ratier (solar terroir of Kimmeridgian marl), Les Blanchais (northeast-facing Kimmeridgian marl). Well constituted, the reds may show some deviation.

About the wine:
Quite spicy. Very intriguing and greedy. Very salivating. Lots of character.
