Bettane & Desseauve
"Bottled in May 2014 after 18 months maturing on fine lees, Menetou-Salon Les Renardières is a very pretty wine, with an open, balanced and elegant bouquet of celery, fennel seed and white fruit. These aromas are enhanced by a delicate touch of spice from the clay-limestone soils. On the palate, this 100% Sauvignon is rich, complex and elegant, powerfully structured, yet still youthful and crisp, with flavors of carambola, gooseberry, as well as yeast and hazelnut on the finish." (Wine Advocate 2014 - Robert Parker)

Philippe Gilbert is a winemaker of the utmost integrity, and for several vintages now has been working in the most natural way possible. The domaine has just launched a wine bar, Le Fluteau, featuring the estate's wines and those of winemaker friends.

RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated (2015 guide) 15.5/20 (Good wine)
Domaine noté (guide 2016) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the wine:
The cuvée Les Renardières offers extra density, length and complexity, but will need a little waiting.
About the domain :
Owner Philippe Gilbert has been working with oenologist Jean-Philippe Louis since the estate's qualitative revival twelve years ago. Jean-Philippe is responsible for the conversion of the vineyard to biodynamic viticulture (Biodyvin label). The Renardières cuvées are made from the oldest Pinot Noir and Sauvignon vines. In recent vintages, the whites have taken on a breath of fresh air and saline length. After a very woody period, the reds have gained in finesse, without losing their maturity, and are gradually gaining in precision.
