Philippe Gilbert Estate
In 1768, François Gilbert left his job as a tavern owner to take over his father-in-law's estate. At the beginning of the 20th century, Philippe Gilbert (grandfather of the current Philippe Gilbert) redesigned and rebuilt the estate as it stands today. The various modifications made to this Berry-style building led Philippe Gilbert to work with visual artist Mario d'Sousa to harmonize the overall structure.

The Philippe Gilbert estate is a 28-hectare family estate located in the heart of the Menetou-Salon appellation. Practicing biodynamic agriculture since 2006 and certified Biodyvin since 2007, the estate seeks to enhance the soil on which the vines are planted, namely clay-limestone on Kimmeridgian subsoil. The Philippe Gilbert estate expresses the typical characteristics of its terroir in two ways: the estate cuvée (red and white) focuses on freshness and balance, while Les Renardières (red and white) is vinified in barrels from old vines to produce complex and powerful wines.
