Bettane & Desseauve
From a 4-hectare plot surrounded by an orthogneiss wall, Clos la Carizière has undergone very little human intervention. With no chemical treatments in the vineyard and indigenous yeasts in the cellar, this Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine is the reflection of its terroir: a clear mineral signature emerges. Ideal with a seafood platter.

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Rated (2016 guide) 15.5/20 + Coup de Coeur (Very good wine)
Estate rated (2016 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the wine:
Beautiful saline dimension with iodine depth.
About the domain :
Today, Joseph Landron, aka "Jo", cultivates a 46-hectare vineyard divided between two estates, Domaine de la Louveterie and Château de la Carizière, and is one of the best and most consistent producers of Muscadet. The vines are grown organically.
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated (2016 guide) 15.5/20 (Good wine)
Estate rated (2016 guide) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with good production levels, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
Clos La Carizière is fuller and fleshier, but also more reluctant to give itself up.
About the domain :
Jo Landron's cuvées have become benchmarks in the all-too-small family of muscadets de terroir. The wines are marketed in a staggered way, starting with the light, fruity Amphibolite - very popular with wine bars - then, depending on the case, the sandy-clay or the sandstone - the age of the vines interfering with the beautiful order of the terroirs. In the best years, Hermine d'Or combines maturity and freshness, and Fief du Breil offers real complexity.

Long live Muscadet! At this price, why deprive yourself? It's become my favorite aperitif wine.

Quite light Muscadet, not aggressive, very fresh. Almost sparkling at times. Very pleasant, excellent value for money.

Drank in Sept. 2015: very pleasant surprise, nice nervous attack, nice acidity, nice tension. Muscadet lovers won't be disappointed.
