Saumur rouge
Created in 1936, AOC Saumur Rouge is produced in 32 communes, 21 in Maine-et-Loire, 9 in Vienne and 2 in Deux-Sèvres. The main grape variety is Cabernet Franc, followed by Cabernet Sauvignon and, more rarely, Pineau d'Aunis. The soils are mainly composed of chalky Tuffeau limestone, characteristic of the Saumur region. Saumur red is characterized by its luminous ruby-purple color, intense aromas of ripe, even stewed red fruit and superb balance. Both supple and dense, it seduces with its lightness and finesse.

2*Coup de Coeur Hachette
"As its name suggests, this cuvée was born on a refuge for deer, who come to nibble the Cabernet Franc grapes planted here on the foothills of the Brossay plateau, on ancient flint and iron soils. These grapes have produced a superb wine with a devilishly greedy fruitiness, structured without excess by fine tannins well set in tender, silky flesh. An exquisite, perfectly balanced wine that will delight both in its youth and after a little ageing. (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2025).
