"Charme 2017 is a parcel-based blend of Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca, aged for 15 months in single- or multi-wine French oak barrels. [...] More nuanced than the Batuta and probably a little deeper, it's just as fresh, with a slightly meaty aftertaste. There's not much volume, but there never is in this wine (generally intended to have a Burgundian style). It's a lovely Charme, though. It's structured, refined and bright, with fruit and a long finish. It should age beautifully." (Wine Advocate 2019 - Mark Squires)

About the wine:
Charme 2017 is a parcel-by-parcel blend of Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca (especially Tinta Roriz), aged for 15 months in French oak barrels of one or more wines. It has an alcohol content of 13.5%. More nuanced than the Batuta and probably a little deeper, it's just as fresh, with a slightly meaty aftertaste. There's not much volume, but there never is in this wine (generally intended to have a Burgundian style). It's a lovely Charme, though. It's structured, refined and bright, with fruit and a long finish. It should age beautifully.

Beautiful, assertive color, but light and luminous. Spicy nose, with vanilla nuance and a hint of fruit alcohol. Velvety and impressive, like a classic Burgundy. Very fine finish, with a hint that it will age like an excellent Côte de Beaune. I love it!
