Château de Pibarnon
Château de Pibarnon, owned by Eric de Saint-Victor, extends its exceptional 50-hectare vineyard on the highest slopes of the Bandol terroir in Provence. The Château de Pibarnon vineyard is located just a stone's throw from the Mediterranean, at an altitude of 300 meters. The vines, with an average age of 30 years, dominate the valley, clinging to the slopes from restanque to restanque, forming a vast, magnificent cirque sheltered from the mistral wind. The high altitude of the vineyards means cool nights and slow ripening of the grapes, which are produced in three colors: red, rosé and white.

The de Saint-Victor family has been at the helm of this remarkable Château de Pibarnon estate since 1978. Today, Eric de Saint-Victor succeeds his father, Comte Henri de Saint-Victor, who passed away in 2013. What a journey he has made since then, with perseverance and conviction. It's a journey that has elevated Château de Pibarnon to the highest rank, ever since the first vintage in 1978, which won a Gold Medal at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris for all three colors: red, white and rosé! Gold, which the red Pibarnon would not relinquish for 6 consecutive years, an absolute record in the annals of the competition!

"The 2017 manages to retain remarkable harmony and freshness (RVF 2022)"

"A new Favorite for Pibarnon and this Bandol composed of 90% Mourvèdre and 10% Grenache, aged 18 to 20 months in barrel. A beautiful ruby-red color, a complex, intense nose of vegetal, woody, fruity (black fruits, bitter orange) and spicy (coriander, pepper) aromas: a most engaging introduction. What follows does not disappoint: the palate, typical of its terroir, delights with its volume, density, well-presented but remarkably silky tannins, and long, finely cocoaed finish. A very fine representative of the appellation, with a character that is as assertive as it should be". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2021)

Year after year, the Rosé de Pibarnon is a true gourmet rosé. A full-bodied, fruity wine that's both full-bodied and gourmet, it goes perfectly with this recipe for grilled sea bream with eggplant caviar.

"The 2011 Bandol Les Restanques de Pibarnon shows just how elegant and pure wines from this region can be. Blackberry, spice and notes of crushed flowers are all present in this medium-bodied 2011, fine in style and superb in balance, with fine tannins and a great finish. It will impress for the next 7-10 years." (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)

Refined and silky, with remarkable fullness and freshness!

The richness of the Château de Pibarnon and the few cultivable north-facing slopes it possesses, produce this very elegant and delicate Bandol white. This vintage 2007 is powerful, long on the palate and reveals elegant notes of white fruits, flowers and spices. It owes its freshness to the north-facing slopes on which clairette and bourboulenc are planted. A true gourmet wine, it will go wonderfully with langoustines, scallops and noble white-fleshed fish... To be discovered!

A superb Bandol with character, to be drunk for its fruitiness and freshness!

Guide Hachette 2008 : 1 * Star
The estate's second red wine is named after the famous hillside terraces known as terraceson which its Mourvèdre and Grenache vines are planted. Produced from the same terroir as the grand vin, between clay and limestone, but from the estate's youngest vines (aged between 8 and 16 years), it is vinified and aged with the same care. This is a very attractive Bandol well-balanced, both suave and full-bodied, with supple, fine tannins. Ideal with rack of lamb...
