Château Calissanne covers 1,200 hectares, including 110 hectares of south-facing A.O.P. Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence and IGP vines. Château Calissanne 's terroir consists of gently sloping, stony hillsides at the foot of towering limestone cliffs, ideally suited to the cultivation of vines and olive trees. In Château Calissanne's particular "Terroir", the Mediterranean climate - hot and dry (annual rainfall 550 mm) - is tempered by the inflow of sea air, providing the vineyards with generous amounts of sunshine.
