Château Calissanne
Château Calissanne covers 1,200 hectares, including 110 hectares of south-facing A.O.P. Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence and IGP vines. Château Calissanne 's terroir consists of gently sloping, stony hillsides at the foot of towering limestone cliffs, ideally suited to the cultivation of vines and olive trees. In Château Calissanne's particular "Terroir", the Mediterranean climate - hot and dry (annual rainfall 550 mm) - is tempered by the inflow of sea air, providing the vineyards with generous amounts of sunshine.

Sophie Kessler now runs the Château Calissanne estate alongside her son Thomas. Château Calissanne 's vines are carefully cultivated, with a focus on low yields, and the majority of production is directed towards the production of rosé wines typical of Provence.

"Pleasant, saline nose, also on star anise and fresh red fruit. Very invigorating, like an early-morning stroll along the coast. 2*Coup de Coeur Hachette

Note in Guide Hachette: 2**(Remarkable wine) + Coup de Coeur
Twelfth "coup de coeur" for Jean Bonnet, who has been managing the estate for over twenty years. This Clos Victoire 2009, made from 60% Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, delivers an intense bouquet of black fruits and mocha. On the palate, it holds its note for a long, long time, asserting itself through its great freshness, tannic strength and perfectly controlled oakiness. Wait two or three years, even if the desire to taste it is already very tempting..." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2013)

In white, Clos Victoire reveals a floral register, with notes of hazelnut and honey. The complexity and ample texture of its palate is pleasant, with notes of praline and honey dominating. On aeration, the palate becomes more apricot and spicy... An appetizing fragrance!
