Gault & Millau
With its golden color, the cuvée Alycastre blanc presents rich, intense aromas of exotic fruit and peach. On the palate, full and generous, it expresses freshness and roundness: the hallmark of Domaine de la Courtade. A beautiful blend of Rolle and Sémillon that makes perfect sense on this terroir on the island of Porquerolles.

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine noté (guide 2020) Sélectionné (An estate or house that has won us over with one or more wines from its production, without us being able to give a general opinion on the style of the entire range)
About the domain :
La Courtade, one of three estates on the magnificent island of Porquerolles, was bought in 2014 by Édouard Carmignac, manager of the eponymous management fund and a major art collector. Since then, the reception area has undergone major restructuring. In fact, the Fondation Carmignac has taken up residence here to exhibit the owner's highly eclectic and specialized collection. Up until now, redoing the old cellar was not on the agenda, but this is set to change in the near future. While the wines are presented with some very creative new labels, the whole leaves us wanting more. A disappointing development given the magnificent character of the wines prior to the estate's takeover. Let's hope that very soon the wine will benefit from the same attention that Monsieur Carmignac pays to his art. The terroir deserves it.
Guide Hachette des vins
Domaine noté (guide 2023) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the domain :
Florent Audibert took over this estate, created in the 1980s on the island of Porquerolles, in 2015. At his disposal is a 35-hectare organic vineyard (certified in 1997).
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Wine rated (2016 guide) 15.5/20 (Very good)
About the wine:
The color is pale gold with white-gold nuances and a silver gradation. The brightness speaks of freshness, which is confirmed on the nose with aromas of English candy, citrus fruit, lime blossom and Earl Grey. On the palate, too, the wine is fragrant, fine and delicate. Marine acidity gives it depth.
