Bettane & Desseauve
"The 14 months of barrel ageing produce woody, buttery and pastry notes. Juicy on the finish, it is generous and greedy but remains on a fairly consensual profile. A wine to put everyone in agreement". (Le Guide des Vins Bettane & Desseauve) Predominantly Mourvèdre, this racy red has many years ahead of it!

Domaine noté (guide 2020) Sélectionné (An estate or house that has won us over with one or more wines from its production, without us being able to give a general opinion on the style of the entire range)
About the wine:
The 14 months of barrel ageing produce woody, buttery and pastry notes. Juicy on the finish, it is generous and greedy but remains on a fairly consensual profile. A wine to make everyone agree.
About the domain :
La Courtade, one of three estates on the magnificent island of Porquerolles, was bought in 2014 by Édouard Carmignac, manager of the eponymous management fund and a major art collector. Since then, the reception area has undergone major restructuring. In fact, the Fondation Carmignac has taken up residence here to exhibit the owner's highly eclectic and specialized collection. Up until now, redoing the old cellar was not on the agenda, but this is set to change in the near future. While the wines are presented with some very creative new labels, the whole leaves us wanting more. A disappointing development given the magnificent character of the wines prior to the estate's takeover. Let's hope that very soon the wine will benefit from the same attention that Monsieur Carmignac pays to his art. The terroir deserves it.

About the domain :
Florent Audibert took over this estate, created in the 1980s on the island of Porquerolles, in 2015. At his disposal is a 35-hectare organic vineyard (certified in 1997).
