"Great class for this Premier cuvée with notes of summer peach and a long, saline finish!"

Première rosé combines elegance, gourmet roundness and saline expression. This cuvée rosé reveals a highly expressive nose, with exotic aromas of pineapple, lychee and fresh apricot mingled with notes of white pepper and nutmeg. The palate is full-bodied, beautifully fruity, harmonious and fine, accentuated by saline notes on the finish. A rosé worthy of the appellation's finest!

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated (2020 guide) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)

About the domain :

This is one of Provence's most famous estates. It belongs to the Combard family, who manage this 85-hectare estate, 30 hectares of which are leased. The vines, located on the seashore in schistose soil, have been grown organically since 1979. We are currently in the process of converting everything to biodynamic viticulture. We welcome this commitment, which is no easy task for an estate of this size. While the wines are one of Provence's best-known assets, the family also goes to great lengths to welcome visitors, and during the summer months offers a cultural program well worth the detour.

Wine rated (guide 2024) 89/100

About the wine:

The cuvée evokes the crystalline Provence of the Lalonde-Les Maures terroirs, of which it was one of the first examples. The gray hues of the color are the hallmark of this distinctive 2023 vintage: deep, spicy, with a desirable salinity on the finish. (La RVF n°682, July-August 2024)

A must of finesse, right down to the aesthetics of the bottle. Less demonstrative than 2022, Première remains an elegant, delicate rosé, where floral and herbaceous flavors prevail over notes of crushed strawberry and white peach in 2023. Well-balanced and refreshing, the palate is full-bodied, slippery and silky, underpinned by natural acidity and iodized minerality. The invigorating, salivating finish is enriched by a fine hint of bitterness. Refined from start to finish, Première is ideal for pairing with delicious langoustine tails roasted in olive oil and saffron citrus after an aperitif on the terrace. Score = 4.
