In its simplest form, Cuvée Thyrsus is vinified using the natural method, without added sulfur or filtration, and aged for 6 months in amphora. A pure expression of Mourvèdre, with a Mediterranean bouquet, rich in black fruits and spices, and generous, crisp tannins. All the exuberance and freshness of Mourvèdre in the bottle!

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 4*Stars (Top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)
About the domain :
The terroir is composed of marl and clay soils on a limestone bedrock. Guillaume Tari and his wife manage this place steeped in history with heart and spirit. Preserving nature as much as possible, they produce wines that live up to their philosophy that "quality is a sum of details, each of which requires rigor". Since the king grape variety, Mourvèdre, has the gift not only of expressing the character of its terroir, but also that of its winemaker, the wines show a distinctly Bordeaux trait, sophisticated and well-mannered, without betraying this wild and splendid terroir overlooking the Grande Bleue.

Rated wine (guide 2023) 89/100 (Vintage 2020)
Domaine rated (guide 2023) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the domain :
Bordelais Guillaume and Soledad Tari are at the helm of this 500-hectare estate, amidst which nestle 20 hectares of organic vines. One of the main features of this wine estate is its altitude. At 410 meters above sea level, La Bégude enjoys a very different climate from that near the coast. With wide temperature variations between day and night, and a windy area, the Mourvèdre grapes ripen slowly but surely. And Grenache takes on a dimension on this "caillasse" terroir that is rarely found in Bandol. With powerful aromas of black fruit and black olive, the reds (50% of the volume) still offer a warm spirit, at the upper limit of ripeness! The rosé is always remarkable for its singular vinosity. The 2019 red is admirably concentrated, with a fine expression of fruit. Let's hope that future vintages follow suit!
