Domaine Loew
Domaine Loew has been in existence since 1996, located in the steep hills west of Strasbourg. Established in Westhoffen since the 18th century between the town's ramparts, the Loew family farms 12 hectares in 5 villages: Westhoffen, Traenheim, Bergbieten, Balbronn and Scharrachbergheim.

Caroline and Etienne Loew place respect for terroir, vines and wine at the heart of their profession. The Loew estate works with certified biodynamic methods, favoring manual labor to respect the life of the soil.
Each Loew terroir is vinified separately. Yields vary from 25 to 45 hl/ha, depending on the vintage.

(2014 vintage notes)

Son of the Sun, Gewurztraminer here is planted on a gentle north-facing slope of red marl, enabling slow, optimal ripening while retaining freshness. The nose reveals classic aromas of pepper and rose, which are repeated on the palate. We love the elegant sweetness that adds deliciousness to this well-balanced cuvée.

"The Riesling Sélection de Grains Nobles Altenberg de Bergbieten presents an extraordinarily clean, fresh and aromatic bouquet of white peach and apricot underscored by lime and mineral aromas. Round and juicy on the nobly textured, gourmand and highly elegant palate, this is a pure, fine, energetic and saline SGN Riesling with a structured, piquant, persistent and salivating finish. Well-sweetened, but with great delicacy, and with great ageing potential." (Wine Advocate 2017 - Robert Parker)

"Golden yellow, the Pinot Gris Bruderbach Le Menhir 2014 offers a rich, intense, spicy/lactic nose with hints of botrytis [...]. Full-bodied, round and elegant, with rather fluid but still vibrant acidity, fine tannins and long minerality, this is an intense, vinous but pure, fresh and mineral Pinot from chalky sandstone soils, vinified dry. The finish is clean, with good intensity and length, but also hints of burnt milk. Try this Pinot with intense fish dishes. Ready to drink." (Wine Advocate 2017 - Robert Parker)

"The Ostenberg Gewurztraminer opens with a clean, ripe, rich nose with smoky, fine scents of broken rocks. Rich and juicy on the palate, with lovely gourmet fruit, soft but elegant acidity, fine tannins and good salinity, this full-bodied, aromatic Gewurz reveals a soft but complex finish with lovely minerality and tannic grip." (Wine Advocate 2017 - Robert Parker)

"The 2015 Riesling Bruderbach Clos des Frères opens with a clean, concentrated, deep and mineral nose of perfectly ripe fruit (lemon). Round, intense and elegant on the palate, this is a clean, fresh and saline Riesling with a long, aromatic finish. Thanks to a low pH, it's a greedy Clos but full of tension, very mineral with a beautiful, persistent structure. Impressive" (Wine Advocate 2017 - Robert Parker)
