The Lady of Malt
The operation of Dame de Malt is located on the banks of the Rhône and Isère rivers. The EARL de l'Abbaye was created in March 1991, following on from the multi-generational family farm. The farm mainly grows cereals (wheat, barley, corn, rapeseed, sunflower), and since April 2012, part of it has been certified organic. In 2018, all production will be converted.

Dame de Malt was born at the end of 2012. The beers are made from recipes developed by Philippe Vacher. Depending on the beers, 60 to 100% of the malt used comes from barley grown on the farm, malted by a young Ardèche cooperative malting company, "malteurs échos". The "special" malts that give the various recipes their distinctive shades of color come from a Belgian supplier, and most of the hops are from Alsace.

To launch Dame de Malt, the beers were brewed by the La Soyeuse brewery. Since September 2016, Dames de Malt beers have been produced entirely at the Villette d'Anthon farm in Abbaye (38).

Impériale stout is a complex, hoppy beer. It is inspired by Russian Impérial Stout, a beer produced by the English for the court of Empress Catherine of Russia. Its brown color comes from the use of roasted malt. It's a mellow beer, developing flavors of licorice, chocolate, toast and coffee.

Dame de Malt 's golden color comes from the combination of blond and more kilned malts, which also give it a bread and cookie flavor. Its bitterness is a little more pronounced than a classic lager, but remains elegant and subtle. It will be appreciated for its smoothness and will stand out during a meal. Discover it for yourself!
