Domaine Duseigneur

Domaine Duseigneur
In the lineage of a winemaking family, Bernard Duseigneur is the 5th generation, succeeding his father Jean in 2002. Established on some thirty hectares, the domaine Duseigneur covers the Châteauneuf du Pape, Lirac and Côtes du Rhône Villages Laudun appellations. In 2007, he joined forces with Philippe Faure-Brac, World's Best Sommelier 1992, one of the world's finest wine connoisseurs and a true lover of terroirs and winemakers.

The Châteauneuf-du-Pape terroir abounds in a wide variety of soils, and is not limited to large, orange-colored pebbles. There are red clays, limestone pebbles, sandstone sands of marine origin and deeper silts from the banks of the Rhône. Each type of soil produces grapes with different characteristics, contributing to the extraordinary complexity of Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines.

Biodynamic viticulture is at the heart of Domaine Duseigneur 's work to bring out the finest expressions of the terroirs and old vines on the estate. The wines are certified organic and Demeter.

Domaine Duseigneur - Châteauneuf-du-Pape Catarina 2018

91/100 Robert Parker

grenache
biodynamics
new

"The 2018 Châteauneuf du Pape Catarina certified organic and biodynamic is composed of 90% Grenache and 10% Syrah, from the Colombis, Bois de la Ville and Grand Devès lieux-dits. Fermented in vats and aged in older demi-muids, it reveals a vibrant nose of raspberry and cherry, underlined by notes of garrigue and crushed stone. Medium to full-bodied, it's ripe and silky but not overly rich, and will be easy to pair with a meal." (Wine Advocate 2020)

Domaine Duseigneur - Odyssée 2019

spicy
ripe fruit
grilled meat

A fine introduction to the world of the estate, guided by biodynamic viticulture. This Côtes du Rhône Villages comes from a predominantly sandy-clay parcel. A blend of Grenache-Syrah, it develops a sparkling nose of red berries, spices and a marked Mediterranean character on the palate. Medium-bodied and dense on the palate, it's already delicious, sustained by a pleasant freshness!
