"A perfectly crafted gem"
This prodigious white wine is made from Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, and a touch of Clairette (20%), fermented in oak and then aged in demi-muids for nine months. Initially floral, the nose becomes more mellow with aeration, revealing aromas of dried apricot, verbena, and honey enhanced by buttery and vanilla notes. Lively on the attack, the palate adds tension and minerality to this complex palette and unfolds a creamy texture, supported by balanced oak, which preserves the fruit and freshness. A perfectly crafted gem." (Le Guide Hachette 2024)

5-star estate (Exceptional producers, representing the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and worldwide)
About the estate:
Things are moving forward at the powerful Ampuis estate. In the north, Philippe Guigal no longer hides his desire to eventually go organic, and recent plantings at Le Plomb have been carried out to enable winegrowing using a winegrowing machine. But it is in the south that the most important projects are underway, with a new winery operational at Château de Nalys from the 2025 harvest and new buildings expected in 2026. Meanwhile, the first tastings—still unofficial—of La Reynarde, the future new jewel of Côte Rôtie, are continuing, demonstrating to those who doubted it the beauty of the Fongeant terroir.

About the estate:
One of the oldest estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, listed as early as the 17th century, when it was owned by the Nalys family. Its venerable vineyard (52 hectares) underwent a renaissance in the 1950s. A sure bet in the appellation, acquired in 2017 by Maison Guigal. The conversion to organic farming is underway.

About wine:
Notes of marzipan, apple, and ripe pear. Lots of spice and cloves. A charming and structured mid-palate, ripe and rich—honeysuckle and vibrant white peach. Opulent, seductive, and very appealing.

About wine:
The Châteauneuf Du Pape Grand Vin Blanc 2021 is deeper and richer, but its aromas and flavors of white peach, apple blossom, and mineral chalk are also very reduced. Medium-bodied, concentrated, and vibrant on the palate, it has a more chiseled and concentrated style and is very much in line with the cooler vintage. Give it a year or two in the cellar.
