"A dazzling success!

"Grapes from three separate parcels were fermented and then aged for 10 months in 600 l demi-muids before blending. In the glass, this Condrieu delivers an initially discreet olfactory bouquet of acacia flower and hazelnut butter, nuanced with aeration by an elegant touch of gunflint. Lively, ample and long, the palate displays impeccable freshness, reinforced by a saline finish. Delicate, a little austere, this cuvée will blossom after a little cellaring". Bettane & Desseauve

Rated 91/100

Domaine rated (guide 2024) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)

About the domain :

This small estate produces just four cuvées, three in Côte Rôtie and one in Condrieu, from its 12 hectares of property, including 11 in Côte Rôtie, spread over a large number of parcels. Owned by the Guigal family since 2006, the estate is managed by an independent team.

About the wine:

About the domain :

When Marcel Guigal acquired this estate in 2006, founded in 1961 and enlarged and modernized in the 1990s, he added a jewel to his already richly decorated crown: a 12-hectare vineyard planted mainly with "serine", an ancient variety of syrah, which produces Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu wines.

Domaine noté (guide 2022) Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)

About the domain :

Domaine de Bonserine is owned by Guigal, but operates independently. With ten hectares of vines in Côte Rôtie, it is one of the largest landowners in the appellation, from which it makes three wines. La Sarrasine and La Garde come from different lieux-dits, while La Viallière comes from this single parcel of vines.

Domaine noté (guide 2024) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list, and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).

About the domain :

Acquired by the Guigal family in 2006, Domaine de Bonserine has retained total autonomy. Ludovic Richard, who runs it, can draw on a fine heritage of vineyards in Côte-Rotie and Condrieu. The entire vineyard is worked and ploughed, and indigenous yeasts are de rigueur. Aging is still quite present in the Côte-Rotie series, but will mellow with age.
