"A concentrated and finely nuanced Condrieu"
"Grown from vines planted near Château Grillet, the 2022 Condrieu Clos Boucher reveals a ripe bouquet of almonds, apricots, jasmine, flowers, and spices. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, textured and enveloping, it is lively with a beautiful woody mid-palate, leading to a long, delicate and ethereal finish. Fresh and beautifully balanced, this vintage captures the very essence of Condrieu and promises to be a classic in the making." (Wine Advocate 2025)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2023 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
In his new facilities in the heart of Tain, Jacques Grange has a sublime, state-of-the-art facility at his disposal. He is assisted by Marco Beckmann, an Italian oenologist and fine taster. The next vintages look promising. In Hermitage, the new cuvée from the Grandes Vignes at the top of the hill reveals this little-exploited terroir.

About the estate:
Founded in 1835, owned since 1977 by Champagne Deutz (Roederer group). Under the management of Fabrice Rosset and his technical director Jacques Grange, it has 30 hectares of its own in the northern appellations, supplemented by grape purchases, with the southern range coming from the négociant-éleveur section.

Rated estate (2023 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)
About the estate:
Part of the Deutz champagne group since 1977, itself part of the Louis Roederer group, Delas is a serious wine producer. Priority has been given to vineyards with extensive mass selection planting. It cultivates 30 hectares of its own land, including 10 very well-placed hectares in Hermitage: 8 in Les Bessards and 2 in L'Ermite. The house completes its range with purchases of musts or grapes. We admit to being a little wary of the overly pronounced aging of the most prestigious cuvées, which we believe would benefit from being worked closer to the fruit and freshness. It should be noted that, since 2019, the house has had a brand new winemaking and reception facility in Tain.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 93/100
About wine:
The 2022 Condrieu Clos Boucher surpasses the La Galopine from the same vintage, offering more freshness, complexity, and finesse. Made from Viognier grapes harvested on August 22, the 2022 opens with pronounced notes of nettle, apricot, white peach, and lemon flesh. Its lively acidity is due to deliberately blocked malolactic fermentation. Finishing with salty and wet stone notes in a concentrated finish, the 2022 vintage, medium-bodied to full-bodied, is exquisite.

About wine:
Complex nose of very ripe peaches, coconut, and tropical flowers. Rich and silky with excellent concentration. The medium-bodied to full-bodied palate is very finely nuanced. Creamy in the mid-palate, then silky in the very long finish. Aged in Burgundy oak barrels for one year, then six months on lees in stainless steel.

About wine:
The Condrieu Clos Boucher 2022 is undoubtedly the closest thing to a Château Grillet. Magnificent aromatic notes of stone fruit, crushed stone, white peach, and minty flowers characterize this wine. Beautifully full-bodied, it is concentrated, with a precise and elegant palate and an exceptional finish. Best enjoyed between 2025 and 2035.
