Maison Delas Frères
Delas Frères cultivates 30 hectares of vines in the Rhône Valley: 10 hectares in the Hermitage appellation, 2 in the Saint-Joseph AOC and 18 in Crozes-Hermitage. A selection of the best terroirs and a supply of grapes at optimum ripeness complete the production. Maison Delas Frères strives to respect the specificity of each terroir, whether on its own properties or in its grape supplies. Parcels from the best terroirs are vinified and matured separately before being blended to reveal the profound character of the wines from each Maison Delas Frères appellation. The grapes are harvested by hand at optimum ripeness and destemmed in their entirety to avoid harsh, herbaceous tannins, and vinified in the traditional way. Depending on the vintage, red wines are aged in Burgundy barrels for between 12 and 24 months, while whites are aged on fine lees for between 6 and 8 months to develop fatness and structure.

"Complex nose of very ripe peaches, coconut and tropical flowers. Rich and silky with excellent concentration. Medium- to full-bodied on the palate, very finely nuanced. Creamy midpalate, then silky on the very long finish. Aged in Burgundian oak barrels for a year, then six months on stainless steel lees." (James Suckling 2024)

"Very complex nose with notes of candied orange, cocoa powder and spices. Remarkably harmonious for the vintage, with almost silky tannins, followed by an intense flinty character that gives the slightly sweet finish so much excitement. Aged entirely in oak barrels, a quarter of which are new, but only for 12 months. Enjoy or keep. (James Suckling 2023)
Delas Frères - Côtes-du-Rhône Saint-Esprit blanc 2023
90/100 James Suckling
"Lots of candied lemons, white peaches and fresh almonds. The medium-bodied, very harmonious palate is lively and brilliant, less creamy than many wines of this appellation, but refreshing and very well balanced on the finish. A blend of Grenache blanc with Viognier, Roussanne, Marsanne and Clairette. Drink now. (James Suckling 2024)
Delas Frères - Côtes-du-Rhône Saint-Esprit rouge 2022
3.9/5 (9 reviews)
91/100 James Suckling
"A serious Côtes-du-Rhône. Full of forest fruits with delicate notes of spice, bitter chocolate and licorice. The full-bodied palate has impressive depth and real structure. I love the way the generous, rather fine tannins carry the long, spicy, fresh finish." (James Suckling 2024)
Delas Frères - IGP Pays d'Oc Viognier 2023
With its exotic fruit, peach-apricot and candied citrus aromas, its subtle hints of dried fruit and its freshness on the palate, this Viognier is immediately seductive. A wine to drink with friends as an aperitif or with fish-based starters... A sure bet from Maison Delas!
Delas Frères - Crozes-Hermitage Les Launes rouge 2022
91/100 James Suckling
"An elegant, medium-bodied Crozes-Hermitage with the fleshiness and firmness expected of this appellation. A certain stony minerality on the moderately dry finish. A pure Syrah with only 12.5% alcohol. To drink or to keep. (James Suckling 2024)
Delas Frères - Crozes-Hermitage Les Launes blanc 2022
4.5/5 (2 reviews)

Les Launes white has a floral profile, evoking hawthorn, verbena and lime blossom, with exotic touches of mango, lychee and citrus. Fresh and fruity on the palate, this pleasantly supple white is perfect with grilled fish.

On the nose, Hermitage blanc "Domaine des Tourettes" is marked by floral notes and a perfume of candied citrus fruits, complemented by a fine woodiness. All its power is expressed in a concentrated, opulent palate, with a perfectly balanced structure. This Hermitage has a pleasant freshness and minerality that carries the aromas through to a long, savory finish. A fatal beauty.

93/100 Bettane & Desseauve
-

"Powerful, concentrated, deep nose of black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant). On the palate, the tannins are well coated, this powerful wine already tastes very well, a style of wine all in finesse for the appellation." (Le Guide Bettane + Desseauve 2023) It reveals a fine structure and a full-bodied profile characteristic of its terroir of origin.

-
16,5/20 Jancis Robinson
"The Delas team is on a roll [...] and the 2018 Gigondas Les Reinages is a fine example of the work done by this négociant. Notes of spice and leather accent ripe cherries in this full-bodied, silky, mouthwatering and long wine." (Wine Advocate 2019).
Delas Frères - Côte-Rôtie Seigneur de Maugiron 2018
4/5 (1 review)
88-90/100 Robert Parker
"Tasted blind, the 2018 Côte Rôtie Seigneur de Maugiron shows a full nose of purple fruit, alongside herbal, mocha and peppery nuances. Medium- to full-bodied, its silky texture is nonetheless a little taut and nervous due to its lively acidity." (Wine Advocate 2019)

16/20 Bettane & Desseauve
-
93-95/100 Robert Parker

Delas Frères - Condrieu La Galopine 2015
4.1/5 (7 reviews)
90/100 Robert Parker
"La Galopine 2015 is a sublime wine that offers classic, medium-bodied notes of crisp peach, green grass, cumin and exotic spices in a fresh, balanced package." (Wine Advocate 2015 - Robert Parker). A classic!
Delas Frères - Saint-Joseph Les Challeys rouge 2016
3.8/5 (9 reviews)
89-91/100 Robert Parker
"The 2016 Saint Joseph les Challeys is already superbly approachable. Ripe cherries and toasted almonds bring an almost dessert profile, but savory notes of black olives provide the foundation. Supple tannins make it delicious and easy to drink." (Wine Advocate 2017 - Robert Parker). A bottle not to be missed!
