"It will envelop your palate and finish with a pleasant saltiness."

"I continue to adore the wines from this estate, and the 2022 Condrieu La Vieille Maison (10% new barrels) is magnificent, with a pure, medium-bodied, elegant style and impressive aromas of honeyed melon, crushed pineapple, and minty herbs. It has the minerality typical of Condrieu, perfect balance, and an excellent finish. It has good richness, but above all, it is complex, pure, and elegant." (Jeb Dunnuck 2024)

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Winery rated 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, consistent with what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

This estate has some lovely vineyards in the Côte Blonde area, including one on Le Goutay, near their home, but their best wine comes from Les Rochains, on the schist soils near La Landonne. Production still lacks consistency, but the style is authentic, with the hallmark of whole bunch fermentation. The 2017 vintage showed great promise this year.

Rated estate (2024 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good-quality wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

The Garon wines showcase the diversity of the Côte-Rôtie terroirs. We are impressed by the style of the estate's wines, which are distinguished by their fine texture. The fruit is precise, and the aging process intensifies depending on the terroirs and their ability to manage the wood. Among the different vintages, La Sybarine evokes the expression of granitic soils; Les Triotes, located on the Côte Blonde, next to Lancement, comes from schist; Les Rochins is born on the brown schist of the Côte Brune.
