Mourgues du Grès Castle
Château Mourgues du Grès is located in the heart of the Costières de Nîmes, in the southern part of the Rhône Valley. This 55-hectare estate stretches across hillsides and terraces whose terroir consists of pebbles known as "grès." It enjoys a privileged exposure on the southern slope of the Costière, between orchards and scrubland.

An agricultural engineer and oenologist, François Collard cut his teeth at Château-Laffite in the Médoc. In 1990, he decided to return to the family estate of Château Mourgues du Grès to showcase the diversity of the terroir by drawing on the richness of the grape varieties. Precise work in the vineyard combined with a taste for innovation led to the first bottling of the 1993 vintage. The range of Château Mourgues du Grès wines was then quickly expanded to include a gastronomic rosé, ahead of a trend that is now well established. The quality and originality of Château Mourgues du Grès wines and the consistency of the vintages are regularly recognized by the national and international press. This gratitude has always encouraged the owner to rise to the challenge of producing wines that reflect the terroir, sincerity, and pleasure with each vintage.
