"Richness and power of Syrah".

"The nose evokes Christmas spices such as nutmeg and cinnamon. Peppery freshness is also present. Light to medium-bodied, this wine is fuller and more concentrated than some 2021s, but is nevertheless relatively fine. Good acidity, low alcohol and tasty finish. From an east-facing micaschist hillside in the Bonnivières area". (Decanter 2022)

Expert opinion

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

3*Star rating (High-quality production, a benchmark in its sector)

About the domain :

Yves Cuilleron is the largest winegrower-producer in the Northern Rhône region, with 65 hectares in operation and around 20 different wines, mainly from Saint-Joseph, Condrieu and Côte Rôtie. Indigenous yeasts and ageing in wood (9 months for the whites, 18 months for the reds) define a style that is certainly woody, but where each terroir ultimately expresses itself. Starting with the 2015 vintage, each appellation offers a cuvée with a lieu-dit name. One of the benchmark addresses in the Rhône Valley.

Domaine noté (guide 2024) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)

About the domain :

A benchmark in the northern valley, particularly for its Condrieu wines. Based in Chavanay, Yves Cuilleron took over in 1987 the estate created in 1920 by his paternal grandfather, then managed by his uncle Antoine. He gradually expanded the estate (70 ha today), planted at high density and run in a highly reasoned manner on the right bank of the Rhône (condrieu, côte-rôtie, saint-joseph, saint-péray and cornas) and, since 2012, on the left bank (crozes-hermitage).

Wine rated (guide 2024) 94/100

Domaine rated (guide 2024) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winegrowers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the domain :

In 1987, Yves Cuilleron took over the family estate created by his grandfather in 1920. Dynamic and enterprising, Yves has continued to develop the estate, which today covers 90 hectares in the main appellations of the northern Rhône valley, complemented by a trading activity. The style of the wines has become more refined in recent years, and the emphasis on terroir has progressed thanks to a range of very interesting parcel-based cuvées. This is a house you can trust.
