Domaine Pélaquié
Since the 16th century, the Pélaquié grows vines in the Southern Rhône Valley. The vineyard is located in the commune of St Victor la Coste, on the right bank of the Côte du Rhône, and is certified High Environmental Quality Level 3 (HVE 3). Visit Pélaquié estate covers almost 100 hectares and produces two Rhône Valley crus, Lirac and Tavel, Côtes du Rhône Villages Laudun and Côtes du Rhône.

One of the special features of Domaine Pélaquié is the fact that almost 30% of its grapes are white. These include Bourboulenc, Clairette, Viognier, Grenache blanc and Marsanne. For the reds, Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah Mourvèdre, Carignan and a little Counoise Noire are the estate's main grape varieties. The AOP Laudun vines are planted on stony, gravelly slopes or spread out on the plain on sandy-clay soils composed of fossilized sediments. Luc Pélaquié and his sons are committed to producing mature, ready-to-drink wines, thanks in particular to a very precise ripening process and state-of-the-art vinification.

"An affordable gourmet wine

"Composed of Clairette and Grenache in equal proportions, plus Viognier and a touch of Marsanne, vinified and aged in 500L barrels for 4 months, this cuvée charms with its complex, captivating nose of hawthorn, cut grass and dried apricot, enhanced by a touch of butter. On the palate, it is lively on the attack, then voluminous and silky, with hints of chamomile and toasted toast, stimulated by a fine tension that gives it length." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2023)

"Good value for money

The Pélaquié 2019 red (rated 2* in the Guide Hachette for the 2018) shows a powerful nose and reveals pretty notes of black fruit and spices. The attack on the palate is round and elegant, with good length. This Grenache/Syrah blend finishes on smoky notes. A cuvée with character, yet supple. A bargain at a low price!
