"An excellent promise!"
With its perfectly extracted, fruity texture, the oak-aged Cuvée Saint-Andéol reveals great aromatic complexity and length on the palate. Powerful yet silky, the wine evolves from its vanilla notes to more complex aromas of candied fruit, prunes, spices and roasting, with a mocha finish.

About the domain :
Formerly owned by Flemish songwriter Robert Herberigs, this 28-hectare (certified organic) Ardèche estate has been run since 1998 by Roland Terrasse, his grandson. It owes its name to the "dove-white" stone that makes up the château's Directoire-style building. Often in the spotlight for its Côtes-du-Rhône and Villages wines.

Concentrated, well-balanced, can wait 1-2 year(s) as the woodiness may displease some. 17-18/20. 16/07/21. And on October 7, 2022, almost imperceptible wood. Aromatic, round. Very nice QP!

The deep garnet-red color sets the tone: this demonstrative wine, with its robust, well-built structure, is set on highly concentrated tannins that give pride of place to well-cooked black fruits mingled with empyreumatic aromas. The long oak ageing, still very present, and the high acidity mask a certain lack of finesse. Warm, spicy finish. This tannic, heady wine should be cellared for a while, unless you want to reserve it for the last bqq with merguez, or for oriental cuisine.

Superb Rhone wine, silky and velvety without any aggressiveness; perfectly mastered black fruit flavors. A success for a contained price.
