"Crozes-Hermitage haute couture!
"In both red and white, this cuvée is a regular Favorites in the Guide. This year, it's the red, which the jury praised for its captivating intensity and deep, slightly candied bouquet of black fruits (blackberry, blueberry, cherry), enhanced by notes of pine resin and clove and luxurious oak (70% new barrels). He also liked its sumptuous palate, both dense and suave, with mellow tannins and a greedy, ripe fruitiness underscored by a discreet licorice bitterness. Vigorous and full of sap, this hand-sewn Crozes is not afraid of the future". (Le Guide Hachette 2025)

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2021) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the domain :
Philippe Desmeure and his daughter Émilie have developed this family estate to 30 hectares of vines. Vinification and ageing in wood produce cuvées with a habitually caressing mouthfeel. The estate shows great consistency in both colors, vintage after vintage. Good 2017.

About the domain :
Until 1973, Alphonse Desmeure brought his harvest to the cooperative. His son Philippe developed the estate from 1977 onwards, introducing bottled production and expanding the vineyard: 36 hectares today, spread over several communes. Émilie and Christophe, his children, have now joined the estate. An essential benchmark, with wines of rare consistency.

Wine rated (guide 2023) 90-93/100
About the wine:
Crozes-Hermitage Cuvée Christophe 2022 is made from 70-year-old vines. Ripe tannins give good structure to this medium-bodied 2022, which has a clear head start over the 2021. Aromas of black cherry, blackcurrant and blackberry, combined with hints of clove and earth, are nicely delineated. Supple and expressive, the 2022 ends on a juicy finish.

Rated wine (guide 2024 ) 91/100
About the wine:
A seductive, fruity, structured Crozes-Hermitage. Aromas of black cherry, blackberry, roasted meat and baking spices. Medium to full-bodied, with fine, firm tannins. On the palate, it has a dense core of berries and spices, with a powdery, juicy finish. Enjoy or keep.

About the wine:
The Crozes-Hermitage Cuvée Christophe 2022 should easily be exceptional. It's made in a slightly more modern style, with some new oak, but it has a classic look with its smoky black fruits and fleshy, peppery aromas. Medium to full-bodied and nicely concentrated, with well-built tannins, it needs 2-3 years of bottle age and will evolve nicely over the next decade.
