Moulin de la Gardette
Jean-Baptiste Meunier, winemaker since 1988, runs the Domaine du Moulin de la Gardettewhich covers 10 hectares in the Gigondas appellation. He began converting to organic viticulture in 1999 (certified organic in 2012), with the intention of "preserving the environment" and "revealing the intrinsic qualities of the terroir".

The Moulin de la Gardette vineyard is planted mainly with old Grenache (7 hectares), with Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault on the remaining 3 hectares. The average age of the vines is 50 years, and the oldest are over 100 years old.

The philosophy at Moulin de la Gardette is to let the grapes and terroir express themselves. The result is wines of remarkable quality and consistency.

"Haute couture Gigondas with incredible fruitiness and beautiful acidity!"

"Sparkling ruby red. Clear aromas of cherry, raspberry and lavender are accompanied by a touch of spicy white pepper. Soft and lively on the palate, it offers juicy flavors of red fruit and spice cake, as well as a deeper sensation of candied licorice. The finish is savory and impressively long, with a spicy resonance and soft, slowly developing tannins." (Vinous 2023). A complex red combining finesse and character!

"Tradition is good with this cuvée of red fruits and pepper!"

"I always love wines from this estate and the Gigondas Tradition 2021, a classic wine, should be exceptional. With pretty strawberries and assorted red fruits, some peppery garrigue and floral notes, medium body and ripe, polished tannins, it shows the elegant, supple side of the vintage and will drink nicely straight from the bottle." (Jeb Dunnuck 2023)
