"I always love wines from this estate and the Gigondas Tradition 2021, a classic wine, should be exceptional. With pretty strawberries and assorted red fruits, some peppery garrigue and floral notes, medium body and ripe, polished tannins, it shows the elegant, supple side of the vintage and will drink nicely straight from the bottle." Moulin de la Gardette
Gigondas
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
One of the "must-haves" of Gigondas, Moulin de la Gardette and its ten hectares are a charming estate, carefully managed by Jean-Baptiste Meunier. Between the terroirs of Saint-Jean and the Gardette hillside, the old Grenache vines capture the finesse of the limestone marls. There's no showboating in the cellar, and the owner has perfect control over the use of wood. For several vintages now, the estate's cuvées have been remarkably natural, with a silky texture and integrated tannins.

About the domain :
This Gigondas estate has long been one of the appellation's best-known names. It has been run by Jean-Baptiste Meunier since 1990, and comprises 10 hectares divided into 25 parcels, situated between 100 and 330 meters above sea level, where the vines reach an average age of 50 years.

Wine rated (guide 2023) 90-92/100
About the wine:
Shimmering ruby. Hints of licorice and garrigue complement the scents of red and black berries. Sappy and energetic on the palate, it offers fresh flavors of black raspberry and bitter cherry, along with smoky mineral notes and exotic spices. The smoky, grippy finish has great clarity, with supple tannins and resonant floral and spice notes.

Excellent Gigondas, fruity, slightly spicy, should age well, but enjoy now, in its youth.
