"Haute couture Gigondas with incredible fruitiness and beautiful acidity!"

"Sparkling ruby red. Clear aromas of cherry, raspberry and lavender are accompanied by a touch of spicy white pepper. Soft and lively on the palate, it offers juicy flavors of red fruit and spice cake, as well as a deeper sensation of candied licorice. The finish is savory and impressively long, with a spicy resonance and soft, slowly developing tannins." (Vinous 2023). A complex red combining finesse and character!

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated (guide 2022) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)

About the domain :

One of the "must-haves" of Gigondas, Moulin de la Gardette and its ten hectares are a charming estate, carefully managed by Jean-Baptiste Meunier. Between the terroirs of Saint-Jean and the Gardette hillside, the old Grenache vines capture the finesse of the limestone marls. There's no showboating in the cellar, and the owner has perfect control over the use of wood. For several vintages now, the estate's cuvées have been remarkably natural, with a silky texture and integrated tannins.

Rated wine (guide 2022) 92/100

About the wine:

A supple, easy-drinking style, the sample tasted was a little volatile. The acidity is relatively mild for the vintage and the ripeness is clearly present. Raspberry acidity on the finish.

About the wine:

Nose of candied red fruit, cinnamon and clove. Attractive palate with soft red fruit, lovely fresh acidity and fine tannins - a truly well-judged extraction. A beautifully crafted wine that should drink well young and age well.

About the wine:

The ruby-colored Gigondas Ventabren 2021 is a classic blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and the rest Cinsault, all aged in older barrels. It gives off a formidable perfume of red plum, strawberry, menthol and exotic flowers. The elegant, medium-bodied palate of this 2021 is endowed with fine tannins, a charming, incredibly satisfying style and exceptional length on the finish. The floral and exotic notes have a Rayas-like character, which is impressive. I'd buy it.
