Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2020 guide) Selected (An estate or winery that impressed us with one or more of its wines, but where we are unable to give an overall opinion on the style of the entire range)
About the estate:
For four generations, this estate has been gradually expanding. Today, it covers 78 hectares, mainly in the Drôme Provençale region, around Grignan and Vinsobres. The wines are very consistent in quality and offer beautiful expressions of their terroirs, thanks to controlled barrel aging. The wines of the Grignan-les-Adhémar appellation are among the best examples in the region. The 2017 and 2018 vintages tasted showed remarkable consistency.

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 05/14/2022
A medley of grape varieties for a medley of flavors! Smooth, round, almost rich on the palate, with yellow fruit and floral notes. Short finish enhanced by acidity. Dominated by Viognier, with high ripeness, the whole lacks a little freshness for my taste. Score = 3.3. This atypical CDR was served at 11°C with pan-fried trout with almonds.
