Domaine de la Citadelle
Domaine de la Citadelle was created in 1990 by Yves Rousset-Rouard from an 8-hectare farm at the foot of the village of Ménerbes. After 20 years, thanks to hard work, patience and a very selective choice of plots, and with the help of his son Alexis, who joined him in 1995, he has succeeded in creating one of the appellation's benchmark estates.

Today, the Domaine de la Citadelle vineyard totals 39 hectares of vines, planted on predominantly clay-limestone soils with veins of stony scree. Domaine de la Citadelle cultivates its vines using sustainable methods, with no chemical weedkillers or fertilizers, and is constantly striving for quality, carrying out extensive green harvesting and harvesting mainly by hand. In terms of vinification, each stage is carried out with the greatest respect for the grapes, in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats, with gentle pressing. Domaine de la Citadelle wines regularly win awards from the specialist press, and are characterized by their finesse and freshness.

The Châtaigner rouge 2016 expresses itself in its youth with greedy aromas of cherries, raspberries and garrigue. A harmonious cuvée, between fresh fruit and spices, supported by silky, elegant tannins. Enjoy it now!

Domaine de la Citadelle - Court Métrage 2015

1*Étoile Hachette

"Short film? An allusion to the owner's former profession. Cabernet Sauvignon takes center stage (70%), while Carignan plays second fiddle to this very pale pink cuvée. Set against a backdrop of candy and citrus fruits, the wine develops in a dynamic, straightforward manner. And not so short. (Le Guide Hachette des Rosés 2016-2017) A lovely cuvée at an affordable price!

Domaine de la Citadelle - Court Métrage 2015

In its youth, Court Métrage rouge reveals an intense purple color with purplish highlights. On the nose and palate, it expresses itself generously in a gourmand register of red fruits, with a hint of currants. The attack is lively and crisp. A fiery red!

"Gouverneur St Auban 2012 is a blend with a majority of Syrah, aged partly in barrels for 12 months. It offers intense aromas of sweet wood, blackcurrant, licorice and beaten earth. Medium-bodied, rich, textured and ripe, it has a lot to give and will have longevity of at least 7-8 years." (Wine Advocate 2015 - Robert Parker). Its dense yet silky tannins are a sign of controlled ageing, and recall the particularity of the estate's late-ripening terroirs...

This intense, complex white is the fruit of a lovely combination of juicy apricot, peach, white flowers and toasty, vanilla notes, with a fragrance of fresh butter. On the palate, notes of preserved lemon, acacia flowers and the minerality of the terroir add volume and length, with a delicately woody, fresh finish.

"Best of all, the 2011 Luberon Les Artèmes is a superb blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre aged in vats and oaked barrels. It offers notes of blackberry, spice, licorice and cassis, a medium-bodied richness, in a voluptuous, textured and attractive profile. Enjoy this beauty over the next 5-7 years." (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker). Full-bodied, rich and elegant. In addition to the fruit, a touch of licorice and discreet oak appear, lengthening the fresh, gourmet finish...
