A new vintage, the 2011 was rated: Robert Parker 86/100, RVF 16/20
With its ruby-red color and purplish tints, this Saint-Joseph is intense and fragrant, with notes of violets, blueberries and cedar essence. The palate is suave and unctuous, with a well-defined tannic structure and perfect mastery of the wood. A bottle of pleasure!

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated (guide 2024) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)

About the domain :

Maxime and Antoine Graillot are now in charge of the family estate. Alain Graillot, who passed away in 2022, initiated the wine estate movement in the Châssis area in the mid-1980s. His cuvée la-guiraude, always a selection of the cellar's best barrels, is a benchmark for the appellation, with undoubted ageing potential. Generations pass, but the style remains.

Wine rated (2014 guide) 16/20 (Vintage 2011) (Very good wine)

Domaine rated (guide 2024) 2*Stars (These great estates, often endowed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the domain :

The great Alain Graillot sadly passed away in 2022. This talented, visionary winemaker has left his two sons, Antoine and Maxime, an estate that sits atop the Crozes-Hermitage appellation, demonstrating for years the potential of the appellation's finest terroirs. Set in the heart of the alluvial plain of pure pebbles and gravel at La Roche-de-Glun, the estate produces Syrahs that are finer and more structured than most in the area. The strength of these wines lies in the immediate pleasure they provide, even if they are capable of ageing with complexity over ten years... or even much longer.
