"Concentration and power, magnificent!"
"Grenache and Syrah unite for the best in this brilliant purple wine, with an intense nose of blackberry, blackcurrant, toasted oak and vanilla on a mineral background. A fresh, straightforward attack opens onto a palate in unison with the bouquet, greedy and round, with silky tannins, long and slightly spicy, with a fine mineral return on the finish. A perfectly harmonious wine, ideal with roast veal with rosemary or entrecôte forestière". (Le Guide Hachette 2024).

About the wine:
Grenache and Syrah unite to bring out the best in this brilliant purple wine, with an intense nose of blackberry, blackcurrant, toasted oak and vanilla on a mineral background. A fresh, direct attack opens onto a palate in unison with the bouquet, greedy and round, with silky tannins, long and slightly spicy, with a fine mineral return on the finish. A perfectly harmonious ensemble, ideal with roast veal with rosemary or entrecôte forestière.
About the domain :
Resulting from the merger of three caves, this cooperative bears the name of the inventor of vins doux naturels, Arnaud de Villeneuve. It brings together 320 winegrowers from Salses, Rivesaltes and Pézilla-la-Rivière, who cultivate some 2,000 hectares of vines (including 125 ha of organic vines) spread over 26 communes and a variety of terroirs.

Very powerful even though it's good. We didn't expect it

Discover this full-bodied, demonstrative wine, centered on hyperripe, almost macerated black fruits, haloed by a pinch of spice and a touch of licorice. The dense, lively body is framed by solid, still-tight tannins. The acidity and headiness are a little too pronounced for my taste, giving a dynamic rebound on the finish. On the other hand, when it comes to greediness, I have my doubts... The fact remains that it has substance, as well as a relatively rich structure, which ensures average longevity. I'd recommend revisiting this wine on its own, if it can hold its own with gamey dishes such as wild boar stew with redcurrant jelly and baby vegetables. Score = 3.7.
