"This deep garnet-red cuvée with purple highlights reveals a nose of blackcurrant, blackberry and cherry jam. On the palate, the attack is extraordinarily smooth and generous. Volume, structure and power pave the way for a long finish. A gastronomic wine. (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2020)

About the domain :
Véronique Boudau and her brother Pierre have run the family estate since 1993. They decided to breathe new life into the estate, which covers some 50 hectares on excellent terroirs at the entrance to the Agly valley. The gamble paid off: the entire production is bottled and marketed, notably through a network of restaurants and wine merchants. A sure bet, the vineyard has been converted to organic farming. Véronique's daughter has just joined the adventure.

Domaine noté (guide 2021) Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)
About the wine:
Plum and licorice are the hallmarks of this 2017 Henri Boudau cuvée, a blend of syrah (70%) and grenache (30%) that spent a year in barrel (20% new). Medium-bodied, fruit-dominated, with a fine structure that suggests cellaring potential of at least 5-6 years.
