About the wine:
The dominant mourvèdre grape gives a brilliant garnet hue with bluish highlights. The nose evolves from vanilla to licorice, while the generous, well-balanced palate offers quality tannins, with notes of grilled spices. Fresh finish.
About the domain :
Véronique Boudau and her brother Pierre have run the family estate since 1993. They decided to breathe new life into the estate, which covers some 50 hectares on excellent terroirs at the entrance to the Agly valley. The gamble paid off: the entire production is bottled and marketed, notably through a network of restaurants and wine merchants. A sure bet, the vineyard has been converted to organic farming. Véronique's daughter has just joined the adventure.

About the wine:
A barrel-aged blend of 70% Mourvèdre, 20% Syrah and 10% Grenache, the 2019 Côtes du Roussillon Villages Padri boasts an impressive dark color in the glass and equally remarkable aromas of cedar and licorice supported by black and blue fruits. It's medium to full-bodied, concentrated and dense on the palate, with ripe but generous tannins and plenty of intensity on the lingering finish. It should be even better in a year or two, and drink well into the next decade or more.
