"A deep, luminous garnet in harmony with exquisite scents of undergrowth, moss, mushrooms and liquorice. On the palate, we're surprised by the richness of the flavors, the balance and the unctuousness of the material imbued with black fruits, which envelops a melted tannic structure. The lingering finish is another major asset". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2022)

About the wine:

A deep, luminous garnet in harmony with exquisite scents of undergrowth, moss, mushrooms and liquorice. On the palate, you'll be surprised by the richness of the flavors, the balance and the unctuousness of the black-fruit-flavored material that coats a melted tannic structure. The lingering finish is another major asset.

About the domain :

The origins of the estate, where 6 generations have succeeded one another, date back to 1864. The estate boasts a 25-hectare vineyard planted on a variety of terroirs. Pierre and Marie-Claude Fontaneil have been at the helm of the estate since 1989, and for almost 30 years they have been producing wines with strong personalities, both dry and vins doux naturels. In 2017, they sold the estate to a young winemaking couple, Élodie and Matthieu Collet.

An extraordinary nose of plum, cherry, forest fruits and leather. The attack is quite lively and the alcoholic power is a little too strong, but the tannins are well structured and the aromatic power is still of the highest quality. I think a few years in bottle will soften it and make it an exceptional wine.

A cuvee with a strong personality and a vigorous, lively character, built on a solid, deep framework of melted tannins and a fine concentration of black fruits, spices and burnt oak. The finish is equally intense and tannic, with a hint of bitterness. Unquestionably a fine wine, but in my opinion lacking a little subtlety and finesse, and priced somewhat ambitiously. Suitable for long ageing. After 2 hours decanting, this powerful, evolved wine was well-suited to the spicy paprika flavors of a beef Stroganov and its batsmati rice. Score = 3.8.

A very good wine. The 3 stars in the Hachette guide are well deserved. A very nice discovery

Very fine wine, well-integrated oak, aromas of undergrowth, garrigue and black fruit. Would have deserved 4.5/5 but impossible...
