"Straightforwardness sets the tone for this red, dominated by Grenache with liberated fruit. Still in its seductive tannic gangue, it draws its tension from a minty freshness on the finish. This more agile finish lifts the wine as a whole". (La Revue du Vin de France - June 2020) Late-harvested grapes bring fruit and concentration.

Guide Hachette des vins
Domain rated (guide 2023) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the domain :
The origins of the estate, where 6 generations have succeeded one another, date back to 1864. The estate boasts a 25-hectare vineyard planted on a variety of terroirs. Pierre and Marie-Claude Fontaneil have been at the helm of the estate since 1989, and for almost 30 years they have been producing wines with strong personalities, both dry and vins doux naturels. In 2017, they sold the estate to a young winemaking couple, Élodie and Matthieu Collet.

Wine rated (2020 guide) 16/20 (Very good wine)
About the wine:
Straightforwardness sets the tone for this red, dominated by free-fruited Grenache. Still in its seductive tannic gangue, it draws its tension from a minty freshness on the finish. The more agile finish lifts the wine as a whole.

Round, velvety. The Grenache-Carignan combination, however, is more typical of this terroir (and I prefer it). 15/20

very good product, rated only 3 out of 5 for a questionable quality-price ratio.
