Maury Sec
The small vineyard of Maury is the northernmost of the Roussillon vineyards, mainly covering 1,000 hectares in the commune of Maury and certain areas in neighboring communes. The appellation thus covers four communes in the Pyrénées-Orientales region northwest of Perpignan: Maury, Tautavel, Saint-Paul de Fenouillet, and Rasiguères.

Protected to the north by the Corbières mountain range and to the south by the first steep foothills of the Pyrenees, the vineyards of Maury forms a natural corridor 17 km long and 4 km wide. Of the 1,000 hectares of black soil in the appellation area (Aptian schist, non-metamorphic and often decomposed), 90% are planted with Grenache Noir, supplemented by Carignan, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and sometimes Lledoner Pelut.

In 2011, the Vignerons de Maury cooperative winery obtained an extension of the Maury appellation to include Maury Sec.
