Domaine Adrien Berlioz - Savoie Marie-Clothilde 2022
92/100
RVF
"A Mondeuse off the beaten track"
This Mondeuse is surprisingly delicate. Luscious and full-bodied, it exudes elegance and tension, enhanced by a lovely acidity on the finish. The tannins are still young and tight. Allow it to age for a few years to fully appreciate all its flavors.

Wine rating (2022 guide) 92/100 (2019 vintage)
Rated estate (2024 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the estate:
Adrien Berlioz, Gilles Berlioz's young cousin (and neighbor), settled here in 2006. A demanding and rigorous winemaker, he cultivates all his vines organically (Demeter certification in 2020), including those located on the steepest slopes. With 14 different cuvées on just over 5 hectares, quantities are very limited and these artisanal wines are hard to find. We admire the diversity, energy, and frankness of these cuvées, which are contemporary yet deeply rooted in the Savoyard identity and age gracefully. Adrien's latest project is the restoration of a forgotten vineyard in Détrier, at the gateway to the Gelon Valley, with four hectares of heritage grape varieties grown on pergolas (Bia Blanc, Barbin, Joubertin, Verdesse, Mondeuse Blanche and Noire, Altesse)! Year after year, the estate confirms its central place among the region's elite, a benchmark for both wine lovers and young winemakers who are settling in the Alpine vineyards with ever-higher ambitions.
