"Fresh, still with the primary aromas of Mondeuse, with perfect ripeness and purity. It's a precise juice, like a coulis, with present and soon velvety tannins. Remarkable for this young winemaker who has been in business since 2011". (Le Guide des bonnes affaires du vin 2016 - Gerbelle & Maurange)

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated (guide 2024) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)

About the domain :

Following the death of his father in 2011, Fabien began recovering family vineyards with his partner Chloé. Today, the estate has grown to 25 hectares, mainly in Arbin, half red, half white. A new winery was built in 2017. The reds are in the process of being certified organic, and the whites will follow. The estate is experimenting with aging in amphorae and concrete eggs. The range is representative of Savoy wines, well distributed and at affordable prices. The domaine is going from strength to strength.

Domaine noté (guide 2024) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)

About the domain :

Fabien Trosset took over the family domaine in 2011 following the death of his father: at the time, 7 ha in Arbin - one of the crus devoted to Mondeuse - and a harvest delivered entirely to the cooperative. Today, the winemaker vinifies on the estate and has increased the planted area to 24 ha, a large part of which is dedicated to Mondeuse.

Domaine noté (guide 2024) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list, and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).

About the domain :

In 2011, Fabien Trosset and his partner Chloé took over the estate from Jean-Louis Trosset, first cousin of Louis and Joseph Trosset. In 2013, they expanded the estate with part of the Joseph Trosset vineyard. Most of the vineyard is planted on the Arbin terroir, featuring the Mondeuse grape variety, whose interpretations range from flowing fruit wines to ambitiously aged cuvées. Perfectly mastered, the wines, including the whites, have undeniably gained in definition.

Wine rated (2016 guide) 17/20 (Excellent)

About the wine:

Fresh, still with the primary aromas of Mondeuse, with perfect ripeness and purity. The juice is precise, like a coulis, with tannins that are present and soon velvety. Remarkable for this young winemaker, who set up shop in 2011.

A disaster, an austere wine, extremely peppery, with lots of tannin and acidity, the whole lacking harmony. A bottle problem?

An excellent wine, with a highly developed fruity flavour and particularly velvety, silky tannins.
