The Giachino Estate is located in Savoie, in the Chartreuse regional park. It comprises vineyard plots on the slopes of Mont Granier, in the communes of Chapareillan, les Marches and Apremont. It has been run by the Giachino brothers, David and Frédéric, since its creation in 1988. They produce very healthy wines of great finesse.
The Giachino vineyard extends over ten hectares, facing the Bauges massif, overlooking the Combe de Savoie. Since 2008, the vineyard has been certified organic, allowing the indigenous grape varieties, unique in the world, to express themselves in the most beautiful way.
The Giachino estate harvests all its grapes by hand, in a vineyard that is monitored with the utmost care, resulting in raw materials of the highest quality. Vinification is gentle, using only indigenous yeasts. The wines produced, superbly thirst-quenching and easily digestible, are the perfect reflection of the fabulous terroirs and grape varieties they represent.

Domaine Giachino - Monfarina 2014
Savoie|White wine|Organic
3.1/5 (9 reviews)
15/20 RVF
"Sober and digestible, Monfarina 2014 opens the ball. Digestible: that's a constant for this estate, many of whose wines are 10.5%, 10%, even 9.5%... yet there's no under-ripeness or biting acidity: the wines are fresh but flavorful, tenderly acidic." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2016 - RVF) This white wine with its mountain accents will go very well with seasonal dishes, especially cheese-based ones.
