"A sure bet!"

"This typical white Bergerac, made from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, is enhanced by 10% Muscadelle, which brings spicy aromas and fragrances to this ripe, fruity wine. It is crisp on the finish, yet full-bodied. Drink from 2025." (Wine Enthusiast 2024)

3-star rating (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)

About the estate:

Guillaume and Paul, Francis' sons, together with oenologist Yann Lecoindre, manage the 30 hectares of Saint Julien d'Eymet, under the Albert de Conti label (formerly the flagship cuvée of Tour des Gendres). A new winery and aging facility is set to be built in Saint Julien, providing an opportunity to revitalize the village's wine industry. The trio, led by the dynamic Guillaume, has every intention of innovating, both in terms of labels and the style of the vintages, by planting Savoyard grape varieties and others, just like their cousins. Rated estate (2023 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the estate:

Rancis de Conti was a cooperative member and delivered his wines before joining forces with his brother Luc de Conti at Château La Tour des Gendres. In 2021, Guillaume, his son, his brother Paul, accompanied by Yann Lecoindre, the cellar master at La Tour des Gendres, took over this 30-hectare lease to produce their own vintages under the Albert de Conti label. The Conti-ne Périgourdine, Cuvée des Conti, La Vigne d'Albert, Chez Paul, and natural sparkling wines produced on this estate's land have been taken over by the new structure, which is therefore included in our guide at the same level as the former estate.

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 03/14/2025

With a salty edge, this vintage is full-bodied and lively on the palate, with a rich and subtle texture, citrus flavors nuanced with floral notes, and a fresh, mineral finish with beautiful density. This pleasant, sun-kissed discovery at an affordable price delighted guests when paired with fresh scallops sautéed with sorrel cream. Rating = 3.9.
