Château de Fayolle
Visit Château de Fayolle benefits from an exceptional terroir stretching across a clay-limestone plateau, sloping gently to the west. It is situated 90 meters above the level of the Dordogne valley, which ensures good air circulation in the vines and good protection against frost and disease. As in most Bergerac appellationthe Château Fayolle traditional Bordeaux grape varieties: Sémillon and Sauvignon for white wines, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc for red wines.

Since 1997, successive owners of the Château Fayolle have invested heavily in the vineyard and its equipment, particularly in the winery. In the quest for higher-quality wines, the production area was reduced from 17 to 10 hectares, to concentrate efforts on the best terroirs and obtain wines with more concentrated fruit and greater purity. The choice of manual work throughout the year, as close as possible to the vines, was thus imposed: green harvesting and severe pruning to obtain low production per vine and control yields.

Château Fayolle mainly produces red, white and rosé wines in the Bergerac appellation , but also in certain years, when conditions permit, in the Saussignac appellation, known for its sweet wines, with late harvesting of botrytized semillon aged in barrels.

"Gourmet delicacies with a touch of finesse".

Complex and expressive on the nose, Sang du Sanglier is bursting with black fruit, with hints of licorice and black pepper. Powerful on the attack, the palate is well-balanced, with firm, supple tannins. Sang du Sanglier is anything but wild! Price-pleasure ratios of this caliber are rare.

"An uninspiring cuvée name for a very pleasant wine with a certain distinction. Floral fruit, brambles and spice for a well-constructed red, with a fine chewiness that carries the aromatics nicely. A fine wine for sharing. (Le Guide des Vins Bettane & Desseauve 2020) Price-pleasure ratios of this caliber are rare!

"A deep, dark wine that needs airing to reveal lovely black fruit notes mingled with fine oak. The palate offers plenty of fat and substance, supported by melted, coated tannins and a well-dosed touch of acidity on the finish." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2019) The 2015 had been acclaimed by our customers, so don't miss the excellent 2016, which will be the perfect accompaniment to your autumn dishes!

3*Étoile Hachette

"A deep color for this cuvée of pure Merlot, with a nose of extreme power, concentration and ripeness, blending black fruit and prune brandy with spicy, chocolatey oak. Prune and cocoa come together in a generous attack. Dense tannins, still severe, form a solid structure. A warm wine, still young, with outstanding potential". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2018)
