"A confidential vintage, the rare terroir from which it originates makes it exceptional!"

"A highly complex nose combining fruit, minerality, menthol and truffle notes, with a dense texture on the palate, lots of minerality and silky tannins that linger on a fresh finish. Lots of character and energy. A top-flight cuvée." (Le Guide Bettane + Desseauve)

Wine rated (2021 guide) 97/100

3-star rating (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)

About wine:

A nose of great complexity combining fruit, minerality, hints of menthol and truffle, with a dense texture on the palate, lots of minerality and silky tannins that linger on a fresh finish. Lots of character and energy. A high-quality cuvée.

About the estate:

Alain-Dominique Perrin has worked hard to make the magnificent Lagrézette estate one of the flagships of Cahors' revival. The progress made since the renovation of the cellar is clear to see: the wines have gained in elegance and the fruit is better highlighted by the aging process. We particularly appreciate the château and clos-marguerite vintages, which are remarkable this year.

Hachette Wine Guide

Guide Hachette des vins

Wine noted (guide 2022) 1*Star (Very successful wine)

Rated estate (2024 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly awarded by the guide)

About wine:

Often ranked at the top of the Guide, this cuvée confirms its character and qualities in the 2018 vintage. The aromatic palette is based on black fruits dominated by blackberry and notes of kirsch. The woodiness expresses itself in roasted mocha notes, as well as menthol and licorice accents. Voluminous, the palate is already velvety, with a certain smoothness on the finish.

About the estate:

A flagship estate in the Cadurcian vineyards, acquired in 1985 by businessman Alain-Dominique Perrin. It is renowned for the distinctive architecture of its 16th-century manor house, with its pepperpot towers, sloping roofs, and dovecote; for its wine-growing heritage (82 hectares), dating back to the 16th century; and above all for its ambitious wines, which are regularly featured in these pages.
