"A nose of great complexity, combining fruit, minerality, menthol and truffle notes, with a dense grain on the palate, lots of minerality and silky tannins that stretch to a fresh finish. Lots of character and energy. A high-flying cuvee". (Le Guide Bettane + Desseauve)

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Rated wine (guide 2021) 97/100
3*Star rating (High-quality production, a benchmark in its sector)
About the wine:
A highly complex nose combining fruit, minerality, hints of menthol and truffles, a dense texture on the palate, lots of minerality, silky tannins stretching to a fresh finish. Lots of character and energy. A high-flying cuvée.
About the domain :
Alain-Dominique Perrin has worked hard to make the magnificent Lagrézette estate one of the beacons of the Cahors revival. The progress made since the cellar renovation is clear to see: the wines have gained in elegance, and the fruit is better highlighted by the ageing process. We particularly appreciate the Château and Clos Marguerite cuvees, remarkable this year.

Wine rated (guide 2022) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
Domaine noté (guide 2022) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the wine:
Often at the top of the Guide, this cuvée confirms its character and qualities in the 2018 vintage. The aromatic palette rests on a base of black fruits dominated by blackberry and hints of kirsch. The woodiness expresses itself in roasted mocha notes, as well as mentholated and liquorice accents. Voluminous, the palate is already velvety, with a suave finish.
About the domain :
A star estate in the Cadurci vineyards, acquired in 1985 by businessman Alain-Dominique Perrin. It's renowned for the distinctive architecture of its 16th-century manor house, with its pepper-pot towers, sloping roofs and dovecote; for its vineyard heritage (82 ha), cultivated since the 16th century; and, above all, for its ambitious wines, regularly featured in these pages.

Domaine noté (guide 2022) Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Wine Enthusiast)
About the wine:
From vineyards on the third terrace above the River Lot, this wine is dense and firmly structured, with powerful black fruits. It is ripe, aged in wood and has a powdery texture. The wine will be ready from 2025.
