Château Lagrézette
The history of Château Lagrézetteclassified as a historic monument since 1982, dates back to the 12th century. This 90-hectare estate has become an emblem of Cahors wines thanks to investments made by Alain-Dominique Perrin, a businessman and art lover, since the 1980s. He replanted the Château Lagrézette in malbec (then planted with hybrid vines), the Cadurcian region's flagship grape variety, to restore the château's wines to their former glory. The prestigious cuvée Dame Honneur is a tribute to Marguerite de Massaut, the first female owner of the château. Château LagrézetteIn the 16th century, Cahors was on every royal table.

The Château Lagrézette vineyard is made up of 3 distinct terroirs. The Terrasses du Lot is planted with 85% Malbec, 13% Merlot and 2% Tannat on clay-limestone soil. Planted exclusively with Malbec, the estate has 20 hectares of gravelly clay-loam terroir. North of Cahors, the Rocamadour terroir offers clay-limestone soil with a mix of white and red grapes.

"The Château's second wine with an amazing structure!

"[...] Blackberries, cinnamon malt bread, anise and mushrooms. The texture of the fruit and tannins is brighter and silkier than the 2018 - overall, the wine is more refined. [...]; a long, fresh spine of dried thyme and oregano; tannins that resemble the broad mahogany branches of an old staircase in a stately home - soft and silky, a cool warmth, support rather than structure, that takes you gently to the heart of the wine."
